We are a network of health care and community service providers offering resources to residents of the Eastern Shore and Musquodoboit Valley. Our services focus on mental wellness and supporting senior adults and their care partners as they age in place and transition into care. We work to foster a supportive community where people of the Eastern Shore and Musquodoboit Valley have a continuum of support where they can transition through life with hope, dignity, and belonging.

“When I used the Navigation Service, I liked that my requests were taken seriously. The Navigator took immediate action and when we had not gotten a reply, they kept trying. We kept doing what was needed and I got back pay I was entitled to from Service Canada when I reapplied. After my success, I told everybody how the service can help in a lot of things we apply for as seniors.”

“The most valuable aspect of my involvement in Visiting Buddies is the relationship I’ve built with my volunteer visitor. Having a weekly visitor is like having a connection to the outside world for people who are in their homes all day. It expands your interests and encourages you to get out into the community, while the support and connection a volunteer provides improves your well-being. It’s also reassuring to know you have someone to rely on for help when you need to do errands or go to appointments. It meets a need, which can be different for different people.”

“I was referred to the Well-Being HUB by YMCA NS Works because I was looking for whatever grants I could get as a senior. Michelle was very helpful, she knows what she is talking about, and listened to me. I now have a warm basement, because she helped me fill out the forms for the Home Warming Program. I had insulation blown into the walls and I`m going to get heat pumps. I received the heat rebate, the Senior Care Grant and I found out I can get my income tax done locally. She keeps me up to date on what’s available and what is going on in the community that might interest me.”
